ACCD is granted the Observer Status at WHO
The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) is granted the Observer Status at the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean for a period of three years. This decision was made during the Committee's 71st session in October 2024.
Professor Hassan Al-Bilawi, Secretary General of ACCD, stated that this status will allow ACCD to participate in upcoming sessions of the Committee. This engagement is expected to strengthen cooperation in joint initiatives aimed at promoting health, safeguarding global well-being (especially for children), and serving vulnerable groups in public health.
The relationship between ACCD and the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean has been well-established since ACCD's founding in 1987. This new status further underscores ACCD's international standing with relevant UN organizations, under the leadership of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
