ACCD Launches Training-of-Trainers Workshop in Cairo to Implement 'Education for Hope' Model in Oman
The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD), in partnership with the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), has launched the third Workshop of the Program on Capacity Building for Stakeholders in Upbringing Institutions for implementing the "Education for Hope" Model (training of trainers) this morning, August 21, 2024, in Cairo. The Workshop gathers over 15 experts from various sectors including education, kindergartens, administration, quality assurance, and educational media, all representing Tamkeen for Education and Training Foundation from Oman.

Professor Hassan Al-Bilawi, Secretary General of ACCD, stated that this Workshop falls within ACCD's efforts to disseminate and implement its Child Upbringing Model “Education for Hope” across Arab countries. This initiative aims to address the challenges facing Arab societies in raising their children. He emphasized ACCD's commitment to implementing a comprehensive program that supports the capabilities of relevant stakeholders in various institutions involved in child upbringing. The goal is to prepare qualified trainers to spread and generalize the Model through the Arab Childhood Training Academy (ACTA), a mechanism developed by ACCD in partnership with AGFUND.

The workshop will run for three days, spanning nine sessions. A group of specialized experts, including Professor Salah Al-Kharashi, Professor of Education at Alexandria University, and Professor Adel Abdelghaffar, President of the International Academy for Engineering and Media Sciences, will lead the training. Participants will be introduced to the current child upbringing model, the objectives of ACCD's new "Education for Hope" Model, its implementation strategies, the roles of upbringing institutions (family, school, media, and civil society), and mechanisms for advocacy and gaining support, in addition to training methods and activities.
