On Monday, May 5, 2025, a joint meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) (21st Session) and the Board of Directors of the Arab Network for NGOs (ANNGO) (3rd Session) was held in Cairo, presided over by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of ACCD and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND).

HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud opened the meeting by expressing his pride in this annual gathering, held under the umbrella of Arab commitment to childhood issues and civil society. His Highness emphasized that this moment is one of building and foresight to shape the future and determine work priorities, guided by mature strategic visions and firm humanitarian values in a rapidly changing world.

His Highness affirmed the belief in the ability to fulfill the desired developmental role by combining traditional developmental tools with modern methods like digital technology, communication platforms, and artificial intelligence, aiming to accelerate impact, broaden influence, enhance transparency, and stimulate community participation, especially among youth.

His Highness also sorrowfully acknowledged the lives unjustly taken in the region, stressing that human dignity and the right to life and safety are unshakeable principles, and the world's silence in the face of these tragedies does not diminish the victims' rights.

The meeting included a review of ACCD's achievements for 2024 and the approval of its 2025 budget and executive plan, under the slogan "The Empowerment of the Arab Child in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Beyond". This plan includes eight programs. ACCD also presented its efforts in digital transformation, developing its technological infrastructure, and expanding AI applications, in addition to the scientific and methodological steps for preparing ACCD’s 5th Strategic Plan for the years (2026-2030).

Regarding ANNGO, its 2024 achievements were reviewed, and its 2025 executive plan was approved. This plan focuses on integrating AI tools into its platforms and addressing the impacts of climate change.

The meeting concluded by commending the efforts of both ACCD and ANNGO, viewing the future as a new beginning focused on innovation, digital transformation, protecting vulnerable groups, education, engaging children and youth, and expanding partnerships.

Additionally, four Support Agreements were signed by AGFUND with both ACCD and ANNGO. These Agreements aim to: (i) support the institutional building of both ACCD and ANNGO; (ii) fund a project on children's rights, climate change, and desertification; and (iii) organize the Fourth Arab Forum for Land and Climate focusing on the role of civil society in protecting seas and oceans.
