Arab Civil Society Forum for Children

The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) has adopted the Arab Civil Society Forum for Children in partnership with the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) and the League of Arab States since 2001.
What is the Forum?
The Arab Civil Society Forum for Children is a periodic forum to institutionalize the efforts of Arab civil society organizations in the field of childhood. It aims to raising the developmental awareness of children's issues in the Arab world. It adopts the approach of rights and development and stems from the international Conventions on the Rights of the Child (CRC), as well as it seeks to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Until the year 2025, ACCD, in cooperation with many partners, held 6 Forums in several Arab countries that addressed childhood issues, including: knowledge, participation and upbringing in a changing world.
The Forum’s Goal:
Activating the role of civil society organizations, seeking to provide a scientific and practical vision on improving childhood status in Arab countries.
Main Objectives:
- Identifying the role of civil society organizations in developing and implementing childhood policies.
- Networking among civil society organizations working in the field of childhood.
- Extracting the lessons learned in light of the achievements of civil society organizations in the field of childhood issues.
- Disseminating knowledge to Arab civil society organizations on the updated issues related to childhood at the Arab and international levels.
- Highlighting the issues of child rights in Arab countries.
- Acquiring new partners from Arab civil society organizations working in the field of childhood.
- Developing methods for collecting and exchanging information on childhood issues.
- Building the capabilities of the workers in Arab civil society organizations for children in the field of supporting the collection and exchange of information.
